The Montemadrid Foundation and the Commissioner for the Celebration of 50 Years of Freedom in Spain present the exhibition Inquietud. Libertad y democracia (Restlessness. Freedom and Democracy), which, with works by more than 50 artists from the art collections of the Montemadrid Foundation and the Portuguese State, reflects on 50 years of democratic transition in Portugal and Spain.
This project brings together the collective historical memory of Spain, Portugal and Europe and invites dialogue that contextualises the social, political and cultural aspects of the period from the 1970s to the present day, a time of transition and confrontation between the Iberian dictatorships and contemporary democratic regimes.
