O Anozero — Bienal de Coimbra, organised by the Coimbra Circle of Fine Arts in partnership with Coimbra City Council and the University of Coimbra, presents, in its 2026 edition opening on 11 April, a curatorial project that proposes rethinking the exhibition as a space for connection, encounter and transformation. Curated by Hans Ibelings and John Zeppetelli, with Daniel Madeira as assistant curator, the biennial takes its starting point from the Proto-Indo-European term *ghabh — the origin of the word ‘habitat’ — to explore the ideas of holding, giving and receiving as fundamental gestures of the artistic and social experience.
