Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art is pleased to announce its participation in the first ever edition of Art Basel Qatar, in Doha, with a solo project by Ângela Ferreira, showcasing a 5 metre suspended and floating multimedia sculpture based on a Mozambique radio tower from rural areas in the mid-1970s.
Ângela Ferreira (1958, Mozambique) is known for her sculptural, sound and videographic installations referencing structural elements as carriers of memory and human narratives dealing with identity, history, memory and social relations.
Ferreira's work is presented in various international collections such as Tate Modern (United Kingdom), Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Germany), MACBA (Spain), La Caixa Foundation (Spain), Reina Sofia (Spain), and Serralves Foundation (Portugal).
